Funded Initiatives

Mamava® Lactation Pods

Lexington Medical Center is the first hospital in South Carolina to install two Mamava lactation pods inside the hospital. The pods, funded by the Foundation, provide a private, comfortable and convenient space for visitors and employees to breastfeed their babies or pump breast milk.

Car Seat Injury Prevention Initiative

Provides car seats and education for the safe transport of babies and children.

Doula Services

Supports the training and certification of current and future doulas to ensure the availability of this free resource to patients.

Helping Pregnant Mothers

Provides newborn care education to expectant mothers with financial strain.

Infant CPR Kits

Provides cardiopulmonary resuscitation kits to families, allowing them to learn lifesaving procedures before taking their Special Care Nursery infants home.

Kisses™ for Hugs® Infant Protection System

Provides Kisses™ system, creating an immediate electronic link between mother and baby at the time of birth.

Newborn Baby Supplies/Special Care Nursery Care Packages

Provides care packages to parents with newborns in the Special Care Nursery for extra support.

Postpartum Blood Pressure Initiative

Provides blood pressure cuffs to patients to monitor postpartum hypertensive disorders to prevent cardiac events.

Safe Sleep for Newborns

Provides newborn infants with a comfortable HALO® SleepSack® swaddle, which reduces the risk of suffocation and/or entrapment.

Perinatal Loss Program

Funds the clinical and educational needs of Labor and Delivery staff.

While serving as a Clinical Coordinator, I delivered my second daughter. Breastfeeding was important to me, and the Mamava lactation pod provided me with a safe, private and quiet space to pump.
